Was Whitehead the photographer or the people in the picture? Just rereading old messages and came accross yours. I have a Margaret Ruyle Preston who divorced her husband James who was a civil war veteran and married a Benjamin Whitehead. I have one picture of her at probably 40-50 or so years of age. The Ruyles and Prestons had lived in Menard and Greene Counties and in Missouri. Not sure where Benjamin Whitehead came from.
