Hi my name is Tom McGowan, i was reading your inquery into Nelson family. I live in Streator , Illinois. Several Nelsons in phone book here. Also what caught my eye in the posting is the name , "duhadway", that was my greatgrandfathers middle name who was born in Jerseyville , Illinois in 1867. His full name was James duHadway Ballard. I had often thought it was a very unusual name and where it originated from. If that name Ballard comes up in your searches please let me know, i do have some but verylimited info on them.
