Deb [DebsGenBook@prodigy.net] Debbie [dhoover4278@prodigy.net] Orman Beeman was born May 18, 1788 in Sharon, CT, then moved to NY, and came to IL and settled near Edwardsville in 1810, he served as a ranger in the War of 1812, moved from Madison Co. in 1824 to Section 30 of Mississippi TWP, Jersey Co., and died Aug 22 1869 in Dow, Mississippi TWP. Orman was the son of William Beeman (born May 3 1756 in Kent, CT and died Oct 15 1837, near Vandalia, IL) and Sarah (called "Sally") Campbell. They married in 1781 or 1782. William and Sally lived in Sharon, CT and Plaisted, NY prior to moving to IL. William received a pension Dec 14 1833. Orman was the grandson of John Beeman and Elizabeth Drinkwater. This John Beeman, who enlisted in the Revolutionary War in Kent, CT, died Oct 24 1776 of smallpox and is buried at Kent Hollow Cemetery. He married first on Nov 5 1746 to Sarah Thompson: they had four children. He married second on to Elizabeth Drinkwater and had twelve children, including William. Orman was the great-grandson of Thomas Beeman w! ho married 1712 to Phebe Parke in Preston, CT, moved in 1738 to Kent, CT and died there Nov 15 1750
