I've been searching for my father's Miller family supposedly from Chicago for years with no luck. This side of my family is a complete mystery and I'm desperate to know more. My father's father died when my dad was just two months old and we were just never told anything about my grandfather's family. The little I do know, none of which I can verify, is that my grandfather, George Francis Miller, was born in Illinois on May 2, 1888 to Julia and Rodney Miller. George entered the Army out of Chicago in 1917 and returned to Chicago in 1919. I have checked the census for every George Miller in Chicago (and there are a lot of them) in both 1900 and 1920 and cannot find my George. Today, I found a possible match on the online 1920 Illinois Census in Jersey County. I found the following Miller family and would love to hear from anyone who may be able to help me prove or disprove that this is my family. I do not find this family in the same location in 1910 so I don't know where to go from here. Miller, Julia Head age 60 b. IL, parents b. IL Miller, George Son age 34? b. IL Miller, Frank Son age 20 b. IL Miller, Marie Daughter age 17 b. IL I also found online a death record for a Julia (Dunham) Miller who was born in 1856 and died in 1928 and is buried in Fieldon Cemetery in Jersey County. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
