Found John Winger, 19 working for Jacob Lurton (Mississippi township). States he was born in Illinois. Also found Jacob Winger (Jersey Landing Precinct, Elsah), 47 born in Wertenburg, Germany with his wife, Mary, 40, also born Germany; John 19, born in Germany, Henry 14 born Germany, and Fred 11 born Germany. I imagine John at both places is the same person. Just happen to have my census book out. I normally don't do this. I may do a book later if enough people would be interested in buying one from the Jersey County Historical Society but too many irons in the fire right now.
