I've been told that microfilm doesn't fade. However various types of light used when microfilming plus the condition of the census records at the time when shot, the boldness of the ink and the hand pressure of the writer contribute to the final appearance of the microfilm. All microfilm copies are made from the same original shots, so what's in one state is the same in another. The only difference is the patience for someone to sit and look at an entry when trying to decipher what the entry is. Debbi Geer __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
