She was born to John Harter and Jospehine (Schaz) Hatrer betw. 1851-1861.My Josephine had two sisters and two brothers. I found them in the Jersey County Census. I do not know when she died. I do know her parents are buried in the catholic cemetery in Jerseyville, Il. I have been told that she never married. John ( her father came from France, his name was actually Johann on his immigration papers. He is my great great great grandfather. My family of Harters live in Missouri, for the most part. I do not know of John's family, if he had siblings that immigrated with him or not. I am not familiar with Illinois, so I do not know if your localities are close to Jersey County. Please feel free to email me with any questions. I will be glad to be of any help to you, that I can. I would be interested to know if there is a connection also. Thanks, Connie

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Ig.2ADI/664.1.2 Message Board Post: Hello, I recently visited an old cemetery in Johnsonville, Tennesee. This cemetery was redicated on 7/7/1987 where the battle of Johnsonville took place. This is between Camden, Tennessee and Waverly. The first tombstone I came across was that of a Frank D. Lofton born January 11, 1870 and died Feb. 14, 1940. His wife was Minnie Lofton born February 14, 1875 and died March 22, 1948. The reason I was interested in this particular stone is because my Great Grandmother remarried a Lofton and this is the first Lofton gravesite that I have found in that area. I know you were looking for Frank Lofton in 1840 perhaps this was a relative.
