I wonder if she could be the Margaret listed on Jersey County 1860 census, Richwoods pct, page 24, under Geo. E Smith? Anyone researching the Smiths know about these people? This one is 16 & may be too young for my Marg? Do you have any other candidates for this Margaret? I know she later married John Stack when Joseph didn't return from the war, after 1880 she and John Stack vanish from the record no graves found. I've also not found daughter Fannie Feger-Ontis grave in Greene or Jersey counties so far. Appreciate any info or hunches on Smith connections.

The society is temporary closed until the heat is done. When people send things to the society Marty has to drive 20 plus miles to get the mail everyday. It is easier for him to receive the info at his home. Marty works hard as well as other people and anything that can make their work easier would, I am sure, greatly appreciated! Thanks, Julie

    3. Hi, All I have on Elizabeth is her birth date, not the place, and her death date and place. The 1885 History of Greene and Jersey Counties, Illinois gives a little biography under Otha Kirchner, the son of George C. and Elizabeth (Thurston) Kirchner), and it saysthat Elizabeth was born in Illinois. I've heard Indiana but haven't proved it. George C. and Elizabeth are my ggggrandparents. Juanetta powers
