James Mannine TANNER (1824-1867) married Harriet Maria BARNETT (1832-1902); they had three children: Andrew W. (probably names after Capt. Andrew WINELAND), Charles J., & James M. TANNER. Harriet Maria BARNETT was the daughter of Thomas BARNETT (1800-1866) & Elvira IVERS (1808-1848), who also had three other children: Elvira, Frances F., & James BARNETT. Thomas BANETT & my great-great-great grandfather James Tetrothic IVERS were business partners in St Louis, MO. Thomas's wife Elvira was one of James T. IVERS's children. Another daughter Margaret (1814-1902) married Capt. Andrew WINELAND (of steamboat fame). A third child, my great-great grandfather Jackson IVERS (1817-1866) was a riverboat captain as well. There is a crypt of the IVERS family shared with a HUMPHREYS family in Bellefontaine Cemetery, though I haven't been able to determine the connection my ancestors had with Judge James HUMPHREYS' relations. I also have a fascinating story concerning Capt. Wineland's trip north on the Platte River into Wyoming.
