I've been unsubscribing to all the lists I'm on because of our upcoming move. I'll be without my computer and e-mail for a while. I didn't know there was a Hutchinson House. I lived in the area until I was in my 20's and didn't have a clue to my family history. My dad lived in the Alton area all of his life and he didn't even know that his grandfather was born in Jerseyville. We lost alot of history somewhere. I'm looking forward to reading that book, and maybe I'll find he's a relative!!

    2. Check with Principia College. The Hutchinson House is still on the Campus . I know I used to work there. It overlooks the Mississippi.I think he was a river boat pilot when he built the house.I have a book that shows the house that you can get from the Elsah Historical Center or the Principia Campus Bookstore. Hope this is what you are looking for. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Ig.2ADI/601.597.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Have you found any connection between the two families? My first Hutchinson ancestor in Jerseyville was John M. Hutchinson, b. abt 1810 probably in New Jersey. There was also a Susan M. Nelson, maiden name Hutchinson, who moved to the Jerseyville area around the same time as my g-g-g-grandfather John. She was married in Hunterdon County, NJ. John was also married in Hunterdon Co. I believe this to be a possible sister to John. John's son, (my g-g-grandfather William Henry Hutchinson) stated in the Muster Rolls for his regiment that his place of birth was Philadelphia. The name Franklin is also a name found in one (or possibly more) Hutchinson family in the Trenton, NJ area. I think it is highly probable that our Hutchinson's are somehow related. Hope we can figure this out!

    2. I have a bit of information, a small amount that ties in with the msg from joanna of 5/4/02. I was just talking to my cousin in Hawaii last weekend and her mother was the younger sister of Della by 15 years. Della's mother was not well after this birth and Della took care of the baby. My cousin said the mother's name was Medford but she did not have a first name, as she had never known her. Zelma in CA

    1. [ILJersey] PLEASE READ: IMPORTANT - From the list admin, with my apology
    2. Karima
    3. Greetings: DO NOT REPLY to this message. If you absolutely *must* discuss it, send me an e-mail, but make sure it is PRIVATE and *not* addressed to the list. I heartily dislike virus alerts, which is why I permit only myself to post them to any list I admin. Usually I take advantage of that restriction by not posting them myself, *either* [grin]. If your antivirus software is properly installed and configured, you don't need anyone telling you "delete such and such a file right away ..." If your AV software is *not* properly installed and configured, shame on you. You pose a risk to yourself and other e-mail users. I think the following is worth the rare exception. The so-called KLEZ worm/virus has a nasty habit of masquerading as an update to AV software. It will tell you to disable your AV program before you run it, so it can disinfect, or protect, your computer. The reason it gives is that it has to "pretend" to be the virus in order to be effective. *THIS IS SIMPLY A LIE -- IT'S NOT PRETENDING.* If you do what it says, you will be infected. You will deserve it, too, but I will still feel sorry for you and be willing to help if I can. Do not, ever, disable your AV software without checking your AV software vendor's web site to make sure it is the right thing to do. Either you will find the web site's "silence is deafening" -- or there will be a warning NOT to do the very thing you were going to ask about. I GUARANTEE IT. Remember, do not under *any* circumstances REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE, to the list address. Your cooperation is appreciated. Karima List Administrator PS, Thanks to Darrell Martin, a fellow list administrator, who has allowed me to use his excellent explanation above.
