Morris Wayne Metzger, 78, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Nature Trail Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Morris was born on Friday, December 28, 1934 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois the son of the Glenn and Thelma (Byford) Metzger.  Surviving family members include his sister: Lois Rodotz and husband Bill of Woodlawn, Illinois; 2 sisters-in-law: Sharon Metzger of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Mary Metzger Harris of Lebanon, Illinois; several nieces and nephews also survive. His parents and two brothers: Donald and Norman Metzger preceded her in death.  Morris was disabled and involved with the workshops for the mentally disabled and he was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.   FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 25, 2013 in the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Reverend Bud Storey will officiate. There will be no visitation held. INTERMENT: Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois.
