Larry Dale Beal, 64, of East Peoria, Illinois, formerly of Mount Vernon passed away at 9:30 A.M. on Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System in Danville, Illinois.  He was born on Thursday, August 12, 1948 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to Edward Alson & Myrtle Lucille (Galbraith) Beal.  He was married to Keiko for 38 years and she preceded him in death on July 3, 2011. Larry is survived by his brothers and sisters: Nona Wallace and husband Mike of East Peoria, Illinois; Mike Beal and wife Pam of Salem, Illinois; Gary Beal and wife Barb of Kell, Illinois; Don Beal and wife Rose of Florida; and Jean Ann Beal of Seattle, Washington. His parents, wife, and an infant sister: Patricia preceded him in death.   He served in the U.S. Air Force from Dec 5, 1967 to January 31, 1988. During his tour of duty in Japan, he met and married Keiko and when he retired after 20 years of service, they made their home in Japan. He returned to the U.S. in June of 2010 to seek medical treatment. Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 12, 2013 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Jack Lucas officiating. INTERMENT: will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Members of Mount Vernon American Legion Post #141 will conduct Full Military Honors at the cemetery. Mr. Beal has been cremated and there will be no Visitation. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the National Parkinsons Foundation and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mount Vernon, Illinois 62864.
