Rick L. Spiller, 65, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 10:45 P.M. on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at his home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born on Friday, May 21, 1948 in Royalton, Illinois to Marion & Pauline (Stidd) Spiller. He married Mary Gentles on May 15, 1980 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Rick is survived by his wife: Mary Spiller of Mount Vernon, Illinois, two sons: Jeff B. Spiller and fiancée Kathy Sears of Valier, Illinois and John Spiller and wife Mary Ann of Woodlawn, Illinois, two daughters: Julie Adcock and husband Chris of Clarksville, Tennessee and Jennifer Heroux and husband Luke of Knoxville, Tennessee, nine grandchildren: Eli, Nate, Ivy, and Phoenix Spiller, Caden Phillips, Cain Adcock, Isiah and Rosalen Heroux and Kresten Brown, three brothers: Marvin Spiller and wife Georgia of Texas; Bob Spiller and wife Phyllis of California; and Jim Spiller and wife Dena of Sesser, Illinois, sister-in-law: Marcia Spiller of Mount Vernon, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews. His parents, one infant daughter: Beulinda Spiller, one infant son: Marion Spiller and one brother: Leb Spiller preceded him in death. Rick was a correctional officer at Big Muddy River Correctional Center in Ina, Illinois, was a member of St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois and he loved his grandkids, the outdoors, hunting, working his bird dogs. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 8, 2013 at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois INTERMENT: will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois EVENING VISITATION: 5 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:30 P.M. at the Funeral Home MORNING VISITATION: will be from 9:00 A.M. to Service Time 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 8, 2013 at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois For those who wish, memorials may be given to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to St. Mary Catholic School and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O.
