Evelyn Louise Davis, 81, of Benton, IL, died at 12:10 p. m. Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Benton Rehab and Healthcare Center.      Mrs. Davis was born on August 16, 1932 in Woodlawn, IL the daughter of Clifford Williams and Emma Gertrude (Toney) Williams.  She married Dennis H.  Minor and he preceded her death in April 1967.  She later married Charles Eugene Davis and he preceded her in death on April 25, 2013.      Evelyn worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company and the Bank of Benton in her younger years.  She was the former owner of The Brass Key Restaurant and Lounge in Mt. Vernon, IL and Two Tony’s Smorgasbord in West Frankfort, IL.  She and her husband Gene owned the Mt. Vernon Raceway. Evelyn was a member of the Woodlawn Christian Church and the Eastern Star.  She enjoyed antiquing, painting, fishing, and traveling to Florida to spend time on the beach collecting seashells.      Surviving relatives include a son, Dennis (Jackie) Minor, West Frankfort, IL, two daughters, Vicki (Don) Hitz, Homer, MI, Shelley Ingram, Benton, IL, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one sister, Leota Ethridge, Woodlawn, IL, two brothers, Buck (Sherry) Williams, Woodlawn, IL, Butch (Linda) Williams, Mt. Vernon, IL, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.      Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and one sister, Delores Sheridan.      Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Benton.  A memorial service will be held at 8:00 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Sammy Simmons officiating.       Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, 204 Halfway Road, Marion, IL 62959 and will be accepted at the funeral home.
