    2. Roy Hershel Thomason, 94, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Residential Living Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Roy was born on Sunday, January 12, 1919 in Jefferson County, Illinois the son of the late George and Ella (Allen) Thomason.  He married Pearl Biggerstaff on June 30, 1940 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. She preceded him in death on July 12, 2011. Surviving family members include her sister: Greta Bumpus of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; brother-in-law: Adrian Biggerstaff of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; sisters-in-law: Hazel Austin of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Edith Casey of Quincy, Illinois and Barbara Biggerstaff of Catlin, Illinois; several nieces and nephews also survive including special nephew/caregivers: Carl Bradford and wife Darlene of Opdyke, Illinois. His parents, wife of 71 years, one brother: Byford Thomason and three sisters: Velma Cameron, Bernadine Atchison and LaVena Thomason preceded him in death.    Roy was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He worked for Holman Motors for 42 years retiring as a Master Mechanic and was a member and deacon of Second Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois for many years.   FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, September 20, 2013 at Second Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. VISITATION: will be held from 5 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. MORNING VISITATION: will be held from noon to until service time 1:00 P.M. on Friday, September 20, 2013 at Second Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. INTERMENT: Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. The Chaplain of Mt. Vernon American Legion Post #141 will conduct a Flag Presentation Service at the cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be given to Second Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home, church or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864.

    3. I have questions about Roy's sister's husbands. Lonnie Fink are you still on this list? Since Greta is your mother-in-law, I figured you might be able to answer questions on this family. Velma was married to which Cameron? Bernadine appears to have married Joseph M. Atchison b 1915 d 1985 according to their gravestone at Memorial Gardens. Anyone know who his parents are?
