Lawrence B. “Bennie” Melton, 87, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 1:30 A.M. on Monday, September 2, 2013 at his home in Mount Vernon, Illinois.  He was born on Thursday, January 14, 1926 in California to Ralph & Margaret Julia (Barva) Melton.  He married Ruth Waterman and she preceded him in death.  He later married Lois Tate and she preceded him in death.  He married Hazel Fay Donohoe on January 10, 1972 in Virginia and she preceded him in death on July 12, 2018   Service times are pending.
