DEARLD GENE “D.J.” JAY, 70, of Bonnie, Illinois, passed away at 5:55 P.M. on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at his home.  He was born on Sunday, July 18, 1943 in Mount Vernon, Illinois, a son to the late Ralph Gerald, Jr. & Helen Louise (Funkhouser) Jay.  He married Marlene Judith Anderson on November 27, 1985 in Joliet, Illinois and she survives in Bonnie along with four Children: Tarry Jay of Anna, Illinois, David Jay of Mount Vernon, Illinois, James Shearer and wife Wendy of Rockdale, Illinois and Michael Shearer and wife Lynn of Encino, California; three Brothers: Ralph Jay and wife Mary of Homer Glen, Illinois, Bud Dean Jay and wife Linda of Benton, Illinois and Jerry Bill Jay and wife Penny of Lockport, Illinois; one Sister:  Barbara Bravard and husband Bob of Mount Vernon, Illinois.Ten Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. His parents, four brothers:  Rick, Marvin, Joe, and Jack Jay, one sister: Roxy Ann Jay and a daughter in infancy, preceded him in death.   VISITATION will be from 5 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois, with Reverend Russell Wolfe officiating. INTERMENT will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois.
