Enoch Dan Morgan, 71, of rural Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away 9:50 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2013, at his home. Enoch was born August 26, 1942 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois a son of Lewis and Margaret Opal (Beckham) Morgan. Enoch married Dorothy (Glover) on April 29, 1962 in Mt. Vernon and she survives in Mt. Vernon. Enoch was a member of the South Hickory Hill Christian Church in Mt. Vernon. He had worked for Continental General Tire in Mt. Vernon and was a lifelong farmer. He especially enjoyed working on the Hill with his trees and strawberries. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Morgan of Mt. Vernon; son, Enoch Duane Morgan and wife Michelle of Mt. Vernon; daughter, Lee Ann and husband Shawn Crunk of Dix; four brothers, Rob Morgan and wife Patsy, Terry "Bush" Morgan, Charlie Morgan and wife Debbie, and Jim Morgan and wife Betty all of Mt. Vernon; four sisters, Lucy Webb, Linda Smith and husband Kenny, Virginia Wheeler all of Mt. Vernon and Pat Chelf of Bluford; and also four grandchildren, Abby Morgan, Jacob Morgan, Dustin Crunk and Nelson Crunk and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Van, Randall, Lewis and John Morgan; and also three sisters, Mabel Cates, Jane Melton and Martha Ellis. Funeral services for Enoch Morgan will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Pastor Jason Janus officiating. Interment will follow at South Hickory Hill Cemetery in rural Mount Vernon. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
