Rev. Lena M. Windland 89-year-old Fairfield resident, Rev. Lena M. Windland died at 7:25 Wednesday evening, Sept. 18 at Way-Fair Nursing Home in Fairfield. She had been a minister, CNA, and worked at the dress factory. Surviving are three daughters, Edna and husband Jim Todd of Fairfield, Anna Beasley of Cisne and Carolyn Luetge of Frisco, TX; two sons, Harry of Bluford, IL and Bill of Cape Coral, FL; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Bob McKinney of Bluford, IL; and a brother-in-law, Nelson and wife Doris Windland of Fairfield. Funeral services for Rev. Lena M. Windland will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 22 at the Archie L. Sanders Memorial Chapel in Wayne City. Burial will be in Thomason Cemetery at Wayne City. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, September 22 at Johnson % Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield and from 1 p.m. til service at the Archie L. Sanders Memorial Chapel in Wayne City. Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Archie Sanders Memorial Chapel.
Anyone know who her Windland husband was? Just a wild guess he might be Luther O. Windland but just guessing because of age and location. I believe she was daughter of Rufus Tilford McKinney and Lizzie Holthouse from looking at census and marriage records.
