Thanks Sheldon. I think I just read the gravestone incorrectly for Joseph James Atchison at Memorial Gardens, JCI. Their gravestone has Bernadine's birth year but no death date at all. I have Lucretia "Lu or Lulu" Maude Carter first married to Frank Beal 5 Nov 1899 with two children. Frank and Lu are buried together at Oakwood, JCI. Her name is below her husband's and kind of hard to read but I enhanced the contrast on the photo and could read it ok. After Frank Beal's death (1875-1907) she married David I. Atchisson 4 Jul 1913 WCI I'm digging on the Don Cameron line. I have more than one Don Cameron. Donald Eugene Cameron b 23 Jul 1938 d 7 Jul 2009 s/o Travis Henry Cameron and Grace Leora Wiggins. I have another Don with no dates and sketchy info. Lonnie I found Bernadine (Thomason) Atchison's obit but not much detail in her obit in Register-News. Thankfully Hughey Funeral Home website had her complete obit. Mt. Vernon Register-News /June 28, 2011/ Bernadine Atchison *CNHI* — Bernadine Atchison, 93, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 8:05 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Claremore Nursing Home in Claremore, Okla. Arrangements are pending and are entrusted to the care of Hughey Funeral Home, where you may call 242-3348 or visit www.hugheyfuneralhome1969.com for further information. Bernadine Atchison, 93, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois died at 8:05 A.M. on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Claremore Nursing Home in Claremore, Oklahoma. She moved to Oklahoma in, October 2007, after a large celebration of her 90th birthday. Bernadine was born on Jefferson County on October 18, 1917, to parents George and Ella (Allen) Thomason. She married Joseph James (Joe) Atchison on November 25, 1936. Joe preceded her in death on August 3, 1985. Bernadine is survived by three daughters: Donna J. Atchison of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Dr. Marilyn Heiberger and husband Don of Grove, Oklahoma and Linda Jo Pollock and husband Ken of Claremore, Oklahoma. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Carrie Cook and husband Rick of Dallas, Texas, Dr. Brandon Joe Heiberger of Duncan, Oklahoma, Jovi Fontenot and fiance Jonathan Pretre of Chicago, Illinois, Joshua Fontenot and fiancee Nicole Hathcoat of Claremore, Oklahoma, Aaron Pollock and wife Heather of Owasso, Oklahoma and Beth Adele of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Great grandchildren surviving are: Payton, McKayla and Bryenna Heiberger, Tavis Fontenot, Braden, Landon, Collin and Westin Pollock and Lily Rogers; sister: Greta Bumpus of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; brother: Hershel Thomason and wife Pearl of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her siblings: Velma Beal Cameron, LaVena Thomason and Byford Thomason. Bernadine was a faithful 56 year member of Second Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon where she was very active in her Sunday School class, in Women's Missionary Union, and as busy nursery volunteer. She was a charter member of Jefferson County Happy Homemakers' Unit as well as a Girl Scout Leader. She served more than 20 years as a Jefferson County Voting Judge, missing only one election. She also enjoyed many years in her Tuesday morning Bowling League at Nu-Bowl Lanes. Bernadine was an extremely talented seamstress as well as a wonderful homemaker. Most of all she will be remembered and treasured always as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and family called at Hughey Funeral Home from 5 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, July 1, 2011.
