Robert William Eller, age 91, of Centralia, passed away at 8:20 am on Friday, September 20, 2013 at Fireside Nursing Home in Centralia, Illinois. He was carrier for the United States Postal Service for 25 years in Centralia. He moved to Centralia in 1957. He was former trustee at First Baptist Church. He was member of AARP, NARFE, and V.F.W. Post #2055 and American Legion Post #446. He was Sargent in the Army Air Born 101st during WWII. Funeral service for Robert William Eller will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be accorded at the funeral home by V.F.W. Post #2055 and American Legion Post # 446. Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 10-11am at the funeral home. Mr. Eller is survived by his wife, Son- Dale Eller and wife Corinn of Evergreen, Co; Daughter- Carol Hollern and husband John of Savoy, Illinois; 4 Grandchildren- Gregory Hollern and wife Karen of Rantoul, Il; Chris Hollern of Savoy, Il; Andrew Eller of Evergreen, Co; Kim Bowen and husband Steve Hirn of Fontana, Wi; 8 Great Grandchildren- Koree, Ashlee, Jordan, Dayton, Haley,Jace, Steven III and Jackson; 4 Great Great Grandchildren- Colton, Piper, Paycee, Benton Robert Eller was born on November 21, 1921 in Mt. Vernon, IL, the son of Fred and Maude (Wilson) Eller. Robert married Mildred (Boswell) Eller on August 30, 1941 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She still survives in Centralia, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister- Lena Moore, & great grandson-Broc.
