He was a physician, born about 1792, Ireland. He was married twice in Indiana, Susannah Shelby (1820) and Susannah Favors (1844). James, wife Susannah #2 and many children moved from Bartholomew Co., Indiana to Jefferson Co., IL, after 1850, and he died there before 1860. He had considerable assets in 1850, so likely left a probated estate and perhaps guardianship records for the minor children. Susannah and two of the children were still in Jefferson Co. in 1860, but most of the children in that family eventually returned to Indiana. Is there a marked grave or estate record for James Wood? Did Susannah remarry in Illinois after 1860? She was born about 1803, Kentucky. Thanks for any light you can shed on this inquiry!
