    2. James Leonard “Jim” Zirkelbach, 72, of Belle Rive, Illinois passed away at 1:40 A.M. on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois Jim was born on November 20, 1940 in Ridgway, Illinois the son of the late Leonard Andrew and Mary Elizabeth “Tede” (Dietz) Zirkelbach.  He married Mildred June “Millie” Grothoff on June 18, 1966 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ridgway, Illinois. Surviving family members include his wife: Mildred June “Millie” Zirkelbach of Belle Rive, Illinois; son: David Eric Zirkelbach and wife Cindy of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; daughter: Jackie Zirkelbach and fiance Bill Rainey of Bonnie, Illinois; 4 grandchildren: Jackson James Zirkelbach, Benjamin Eric ZIrkelbach, Elizabeth Renee Zirkelbach and Erica Danielle Zirkelbach; 3 sisters: Linda Fulkerson of Ridgway, Illinois, Betty Zirkelbach of Equality, Illinois and Susie Tarlton and husband Stanley of Eldorado, Illinois; 2 brothers: Paul Zirkelbach of Old Shawneetown, Illinois and Rick Zirkelbach and wife Marsha of Ridgway, Illinois; several nieces and nephews also survive. His parents, four brothers: Marion, Tony, Fred and John ZIrkelbach and one sister: Ruth Ann Tindle preceded him in death.  Jim served in the U.S. Navy from 1960-64, worked for General Radiator for 20 years and was a Site Ranger for the Illinois Department for Natural Resources, was secretary/treasurer of Grothoff Cemetery board. He was a member of St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, was Third Degree Kinght of Columbus and was a member of Mt. Vernon American Legion Post #141.  FUNERAL MASS: will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 22, 2013 at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Father Robert Zwilling will officiate. VISITATION: will be held from 5 to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. INTERMENT: Grothoff Cemetery in Belle Rive, Illinois. The Chaplain of Mt. Vernon American Legion Post #141 will conduct a Flag Presentation Service at the cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be given to Grothoff Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864.
