Juanita F. Burkett, 77, of Bluford, Illinois passed away at 5:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Nature Trail Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Juanita was born on Saturday, July 27, 1935 in Pocahontas, Arkansas the daughter of the late Lawrence Wilburn and Lucille Bell (Eaton) Ball.  She married William Burkett on April 16, 1962 in Lincoln, Illinois. Surviving family members include her husband: William Burkett of Bluford, Illinois; 3 sons: Ed Burkett of Alabama, James Burkett of Albion, Illinois and William Burkett and wife Jane of North Carolina; daughter: Juanita Bigley and husband Wayne of Bluford, Illinois; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Anna Beth Walker and husband Bill of Tennessee and D.J. Cox and husband Fred of Ohio; brother: Harold Ball and wife Maryann of Texas; several nieces and nephews also survive. Her parents, one son: Lawrence Burkett and one grandson: E.J. preceded her in death.   Juanita worked as a factory worker and a homemaker. She immensely enjoyed reading and was of the Baptist faith.   VISITATION: will be held from 5 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. In honor of Juanita's wishes she will be cremated following visitation services.
