Gloria Teriet, 82, passed away at 10:50 P.M. on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at her home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.  Gloria was born on July 1, 1931 in Hannibal, Missouri, the daughter of Lewis and Mary (Jackson) Starkes who preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by two sons.  Surviving family members include her children, Frank Teriet and wife Sheila of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, John Teriet and wife Cherie of Wentzville, Missouri , Gail Teriet Null and husband Ed of Brazil, Indiana and Laura Barr of Fishers, Indiana and a brother, Phillip Starkes.  She is also survived by a very close friend of over 40 years, Sandra Martin of Mt. Vernon as well as nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.    Gloria was a 1952 graduate of Saint Luke's Hospital of Nursing in St. Louis, Missouri and was of the Catholic Faith   A Celebration of Life Gathering will beheld from 4 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. In honor of her wishes, she was cremated and her ashes will be buried at Grandview Burial Park in Hannibal, Missouri at a later date.
