    2. Came across this obit today. I didn't find it in the archives so I'm posting it. Dean Coffman is part of my Davenport family line, descendants of Phoebe Ann Davenport who first married Isaac Benjamin Loman then Leonard Franklin Coffman. After Isaac died in Kentucky Phoebe married Leonard Franklin Coffman. They had a son Leonard Franklin Coffman Jr. About 1850 Leonard and Phoebe and their children left for Illinois. After about 6 years in Gallatin Co. IL several of them moved to Jefferson County, IL. Bob Daytona Beach News-Journal, December 20, 2008 Funeral service for Dean Lee Coffman, 66, of South Atlantic Avenue, Daytona Beach Shores, who died Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial, will be Monday, December 22nd at 11:00 AM at the Shannon Maloney Funeral Home, 4084 Halifax Drive, Port Orange, with the Rev. Richard Hills, Westminster-By-the -Sea Presbyterian Church, Daytona Beach Shores, officiating. Interment will follow in Sea Pines Cemetery, Edgewater. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, December 21st, 5:30-7:30 PM. Mr. Coffman was born in Benton, Illinois, and came to this area in 1999 from Southfield, Michigan. He was retired from Ford Motor Company after 36 years of service as an educator and training manager. Dean loved Florida and the ocean and pelicans. He was a warm, kind individual loved by all who knew him, and he was a devoted husband and father. He was a Kentucky Colonel. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Judy; son, Neal Allan Coffman, Daytona Beach; daughter, Karen Batt, Cincinnati, Ohio; parents, Shuford and Evelyn Coffman, Mount Vernon, Illinois; sister, Becky Jane Coffman, St. Louis, Missouri; and three grandchildren, Ryan, Madison and Sean. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Catherine and Samuel Coffman and grandparents, Irene and Albert Webber. Arrangements by ShannonMaloney Funeral Home, Port Orange.
