This probate had dates for a few years after his death and I did not spend any time with specifics except for the names of the heirs. Since he was a doctor, there were many small papers regarding debts. Probate Box 12, Jefferson County, IL James Wood, died intestate 19 September 1854, Jefferson County, IL Minor heirs: John E., Franklin, Lydia A., William A., and Amanda. "family of nine persons were living with him at the time of his death" Lydia Anne William Asberry Caroline John Eberly Amanda Mary Alice Elizabeth McMACKIN, and husband John (and I suppose Susannah would make 9) Heirs: Eliza T. BARNES, wife of Michael (not sure of this last name) Emeline BARNES, wife of Joel Elizabeth McMACKIN, wife of John Caroline FETNER or KETNER, wife of Augustus Franklin W. Lydia A. William A. John E.
