James Wood who died 1855 had a son John E. Wood, born about 1840, Indiana, living with the step-mother Susannah Lewis in Jefferson Co. 1860, and not found after that. Most of the known survivors returned to Indiana after James' death--family lore specifically reports that someone from here 'went to Illinois to bring them back.' Thanks for all your help!
