Dennis Dean "Butch" Rone, age 70, of Scheller, passed away 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at his home in Scheller. Dennis was born April 4, 1943 in Benton, Illinois a son of Delmont "Dink" and Marcella (Coffel) Rone. He married Rhonda M. Biggs on June 25, 1974 in Ewing and she survives. Butch had worked for Sesser Monument Company, Freeman United Coal Company and then later as a owner operator truck driver. He was a avid horse lover. He pulled ponies and enjoyed raising Haflingers. Most of all Butch was a loving husband and wonderful father. He was a Christian. Funeral services for Butch Rone will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville with Pastor Walter Freeman officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in the Old Baptist Cemetery in Scheller. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until service time. Butch is survived by his wife Rhonda M. Rone of Scheller; two sons, Brian Rone of Valier and Dewayne "Dude" Rone of Sesser; one grandson, Hunter Franklin Rone of Sesser; one brother, Terry 'Pete' Rone and wife Linda of Sesser; He is also survived by two sisters, Lana Wilson of Sesser and Barb and husband Jerry Wilderman of DuQuoin. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church or the Rone family and will be accepted at the Newell Funeral Home.
