Mary Lou McLean, 84, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 1:35 A.M. on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Mary Lou was born on Wednesday, August 7, 1929 in Wayne County, Illinois the son of the late Hazel and Madeline (Hall) Taylor. She married Donald McLean on March 22, 1947 in Wayne County, Illinois. Surviving family members include her husband: Donald McLean of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; son: Terry McLean and wife Ginger of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; daughter: Donna Rednour of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 7 grandchildren: Mary Jo Rednour, Trey McLean, Jana Rednour, Kelly McLean, Blaze Burwell, Dylan McLean and Devin McLean; 2 brothers: Don Taylor of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Jerry Taylor and wife Connie of Wayne City, Illinois; 11 great grandchildren; one great great grandson and several nieces and nepehws also survive. Her parents, one son: Jimmy McLean, one daughter: Lynn Ann McLean, one brother: Kenneth Taylor and two sisters: Betty Whitzel and Aliene Pilson preceded her in death. Mary Lou first worked as a waitress at Hunts Restaurant in Mt. Vernon, then she was employed by World Color Press in Mt. Vernon and later retired from working in the deli at Papa Joe's Grocery Store. She was a member of many civic groups in the Mt. Vernon area as well as the Ladies' Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1376. GRAVESIDE SERVICES: will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne County, Illinois. Mr. Marty Mills will officiate. VISITATION: will be held from 5 to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. INTERMENT: Thomason Cemetery in Wayne County, Illinois.
