Enid Faye Kennedy, 54, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, Enid was born on Tuesday, April 14, 1959 in Springfield, Missouri the daughter of Gale Maxwell and Beverly Elaine (Neal) Galloway.  Surviving family members include her mother: Beverly Walker of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 2 sons: Jason L. Kennedy of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Phillip J. Kennedy and wife Jacqueline of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; daughter: Sarah K. Kennedy of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; 3 grandchildren: Patrick L. Kennedy of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, James C. Kennedy of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Joshua A. Kennedy of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 5 sisters: Elaine Boester and husband Robert of Centralia, Illinois, Elizabeth “Libby” James and husband Robert of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Emily Stacey of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Esther Watkins and husband Gary of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Erin Casteel of Tulsa, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews also survive.  Her father preceded her in death.    Enid worked for Mt. Vernon Township High School as an aide in the Special Education Department. She volunteered for many organizations including, but not limited to: Angel's Cove, Cove Connection, Lifeboat Alliance, Women at the Well and Special Olympics. She was a member of Grace Community Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.    FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Grace Community Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Pastor Jason Newell will officiate. VISITATION: will be held from 5 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. INTERMENT: Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
