Larry Earl McConnaughay, age 67, of Centralia, passed away at 3:50 am on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Odin Health Care Center in Odin, Illinois. He worked at North American Lighting in Assembly. He also worked as Draftsman - Rochester-Goodale, Muldovane Spain- Salem. He was Designer at ACCO in Salem, Illinois. He was also Production Manager for CMCI in Centralia, Illinois. He lived in Centralia, Illinois most of his life. He was member of NRA and Bassmasters. He attended and graduated from Centralia High School in 1965. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved watching CHS basketball "Go Orphans". He enjoyed fishing, boating, and gardening. He was great handyman. He loved his family dogs Daisy May, Maggie May, and Brandy. He also loved spending time with his friend Dick Kerins. He was in the Army and served from May 1967 to April 1969. He was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany during the Vietnam War Era. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Stephen Krenz officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Casual dress is requested by the family. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Donor's Choice, and will be accepted at the Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia, who is in charge of arrangements. Vernon, Illinois; 5 step brothers- Terry Ahrens and wife Lila of Breese, Ted Mc Connaughay; Wesley Mc Connaughay; Michael Mc Connaughay; Scott Mc Connaughay; sister- Jeanne Bates and husband Robert of San Antonio, Tx; grandchildren- Amanda Orr and husband Christopher; Mark Mc Connaughay II; Benjamin Mc Connaughay; Ivan Mc Connaughay II; Nicholas Mc Connaughay; Hannah Mc Connaughay; Madison Mc Connaughay; Austin Mc Connaughay He was preceded in death by his father- Ivan Mc Connaughay, father and mother in law- Eugene and Plural Bierman, grandparents- Rosa and Granville Mc Connaughay and Thomas and Corda Holtslaw. He was born on June 11, 1946 in Centralia, IL, the son of Ivan and Juanita (Holtslaw)     Mc Connaughay. Larry married Lois Marie (Moore) Mc Connaughay on September 17, 1966 at First Baptist Church by Rev. Louis Bean Centralia, IL .They have been married for 47 years. She still survives in Centralia, Illinois.
