MOUNT VERNON - Marian McDonnough, 78, passed away Monday morning, Oct. 21, 2013, at her home. She was born in Ewing, Sept. 30, 1935, the daughter of Trelly and Sylvia (Pickett) Prowell. She married Billie McDonnough on Oct. 21, 1955, and he preceded her in death Dec. 4, 2002. Mrs. McDonnough was a member of Cross Church in Pinckneyville. She was also a member of VFW and American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. McDonnough is survived by her two daughters, Doris Jeffers and husband, Brad, of Steelville, and Kathy McDonnough of Mount Vernon; two sons, Richard McDonnough of Mount Vernon, and William McDonnough and wife, Jennifer, of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Donnie Cavins, Jeanette Beasley and husband, Scott, Jerry McDonnough, Shawn Toler, Jennifer McDonnough, Dusty Keller, Candace Renee Ridgway, Dakota Rivera, Jordan Rivera and Alicia Champ and husband, Cody; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sonja Cesar and husband, Phil of Buckner; and one brother, Sam Prowell of Thompsonville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant son; one brother, Delmar Prowell; and two sisters, Norma Lovin and Sandra Gocke. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, in Johnston Funeral Home in Ina, with the Rev. Keith Neal officiating. Burial will be in Cutler Cemetery.
