Carollyn Marie Blackwell, 67, of Ina, passed away at 4 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, one day after being married 49 years to her husband W. Loyd Blackwell of Ina.She was born on April 23, 1946, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of William “Willie” Lankford and Ruth (Page) Lankford.Up to the time of her sickness, Carollyn was an avid gardener, quilter and loved working on family history. Carollyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be sadly missed by her two children: Skylynn and wife Tonya Blackwell of Mt. Vernon and Starlynn and husband Rick Edwards of Ina; and three beloved grandchildren, Colton Blackwell and River and Shadoe Edwards.She was laid to rest on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at Memorial Gardens with Brother Dale Burzynski and the Rev. Hope Hutcheson officiating private services.Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Johnston’s Funeral Home in Ina

Carollyn was one of my closest cousins in FCI/JCI -- being a 3rd cousin to me, and a 5th cousin as well on the WEBB line. Condolences to Loyd and their family. Carollyn and I worked quite a bit and I will always remember all the great times we had together - getting Wilbanks Graveyard back in shape, and all the searching we did in Moores Prairie Twp., JCI.
