Matthew B. Carlyle, 57, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Matthew was born on Saturday, June 16, 1956 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois the son of William T. “Bill” and Mary (Lordan) Carlyle.  Surviving family members include his mother: Mary Carlyle of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; daughter: Angela of New Port Richey, Florida; sister: Sarah Martin and husband Greg of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; brother: Tony Carlyle of Schriever, Louisiana; niece: Megan Cappel and husband Mike of Cincinnati, Ohio; nephew: COry Martin of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; great niece: Madison Rose Cappel. His grandparents and father preceded him in death.   Matthew worked in the glass business.   In honor of Matthew's wishes he will be cremated and a private burial of ashes service will be held at a later date. INTERMENT: Calvary Cemetery in Centralia, Illinois.
