    2. Ernest  "Ernie " Meador, age 91 of Walnut Hill passed away Monday September 30,  2013 at the St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Centralia, Illinois. Mr. Meador was a heavy equipment operator and had worked for many years for the White Construction Company until his retirement.  He was of the Pentecostal faith and an avid St. Louis Cardinal's fan.  He loved living in the country , taking care of his lawn and home.  Most of all he loved his wife; his children; and grandchildren. Funeral Services for Ernest "Ernie" Meador will be held Thursday October 3rd 1:00 P.M. at the L. R. Osborn & Son Funeral Home with the Pastor Larry Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at the Palestine Cemetery near  Kell.  Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from  5-8 P.M.at the L. R. Osborn & Son Funeral Home in Kell.  For those who wish memorials may be given to the Palestine Cemetery Fund. Besides his wife Leona, Ernie is survived by daughters: Karen Winkler and husband Steve of Dix; Sharon Woodward and husband Roy of Salem, and by one  son, Gary Oliver and wife Lynn  of Lenoire, North Carolina  He  is also survived by 5 grand children: Makayla Winkler of Dix; Lisa James and husband Gordon of Scottsdale, AZ.; Larry Woodward and wife Marjorie of Salem; Nancy Oliver of Bettendorf, Iowa; and Chrissy Roberts and husband Darrell of Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Ernie is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and by three sisters: Opal Hawkins of Kell; Viola Donoho of Walnut Hill, and Mildred Dial of Iuka. He was also survived by one very special young neighbor: Desiree Smith of Walnut Hill. Ernie was preceded in death by  his first wife Lilly; by a sister Velma Richards and infant sister and by one grandchild. He was born in June 24, 1922 in Iuka the son of Alfred and Ethel (Michael) Meador.  He married Leona (Payne) April 26, 19980 in Ashley, Illinois and she survives in Walnut Hill.
