    3. I have this "other" John Tillman GIBBS (1861-1940) in my file. s/o Elijah H. GIBBS & Percilla (Priscilla) TAYLOR. Elijah & family are living over in Webb' s Hill, FCI on the 1860 U.S. Census Obit: John Tilman GIBBS "John Tilman, son of Elijah and Priscilla TAYLOR GIBBS, was born 27 June 1861; died 15 dec. 1940. In 1883 he wed Isabelle STORY. Thre was born to this union twelve children, six sons and six daughters. Two children, Charlie and Dells, died in infancy. On 28 Dec. 1934 his companion preceded him in death. One sister, Sarah Ellen GIBBS, and a brother, William E. GIBBS, also preceded him in death. He is survived by ten children, Lum, Edward, James, Lugo and Harry GIBBS, all of Benton and vicinity; Dellie LAMASTUS of Buckner; Nancy RUSHER, Stella WILKERSON, Ethel FLETCHER, Lena SPANI, all of Benton; one half-sister, Isabelle H. Obit: Mary Isabelle STORY, "Mary Isabelle STORY was born near the present site of where Whittington now stands. 4 June 1866; died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Philip WILKERSON, in Benton, Illinois 28 Dec. 1934. She was married to John T. GIBBS 17 July 1884. There was born to this union tweve children, of which two died in infancy. Surviving children are: Colombus, Edward, James, Lugo and Harry GIBBS, all of Benton; Mrs. Delia LaMASTER, of Buckner; Stella WILKERSON, Nancy RUSHER, Lena SPANI, and Ethel FLUCHER(sic)/FLETCHER, all of Benton. The deceased some 45 years ago accepted Christ as her personal savior in the free pardon of sin, the salvation of her soul. A few years later she united in the fellowship of the Rescue Freewill Baptist Church. For a number of years Mrs. GIBBS has been a continual sufferer of intensive ailments but through all this she has braved the storms of life heroically. In the moments of her passing she said to those at her bedside who were so endeared to her, "don't weep, fro I am going home. All is well with my soul." She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, 5 sons, 5 daughters, 28 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Burial took place at the Franklin Cemetery".
