Leona Lee Heck, 87, of Bonnie, Illinois passed away at 9:15 P.M. on Friday, October 25, 2013 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Leona was born on Wednesday, May 12, 1926 in Nason, Illinois the daughter of the late John and Petronilla (Pulaikis) Julius. She married Charles E. Heck on October 28, 1946 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1985. Surviving family members include her 4 children: Larry E. Heck and wife Brenda Sue of Loveland, Colorado, Robert L. Heck of Bonnie, Illinois and special friend Vickie Bates of Sesser, Illinois, Bruce C. Heck and wife Pamela of Bonnie, Illinois and Jeff L. Heck and wife Roxy of Springfield, Illinois; 8 grandchildren: Larry D. Heck of Castle Rock, Colorado, Danny W. Heck and wife Glenda of Arvada, Colorado, Tanya Jean Patterson and husband Damon of Dacono, Colorado, Nathan John Heck of Bonnie, Illinois, Wendy Dawn Breeze and husband Eric of Waltonville, Illinois, Rachel Jean Heck of Bonnie, Illinois, Aubrey Jayne Heck of Knoxville, Tennessee and Keely Rae Heck of Springfield, Illinois; sister: Barb Lappin of Sesser, Illinois; 9 great grandchildren; 1 niece and 3 nephews also survive. Her parents, husband, brother: John Julius, Jr. and his wife: Delores and one nephew: Gary Lee Julius preceded her in death. Leona was a homemaker and farmed with her husband. She was a member of St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the St. Mary Good Samaritan Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. FUNERAL MASS: will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Father John Iffert will officiate. VISITATION: will be held 8 to 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, Ocotber 30, 2013 at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. INTERMENT: Abner Cemetery in Nason, Illinois.
