Vanita Louise “Weda” Ellis, 57, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 3:25 P.M. on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Vanita was born on February 9, 1956 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois the daughter of Franklin Lee and Vanita Ina (Minor) Ellis.  Surviving family members include her mother: Vanita Ina Ellis of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 2 sisters: Carol Anderson and husband Dennis of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Julie Yost and husband Clarence of Dix, Illinois; 2 nephews: Brian Anderson of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and James Ellis of Wamac, Illinois; 2 great nephews: Brayden Anderson and Kevin Anderson of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 2 aunts: Grace Garrison of Countryside, Illinois and Joyce Erwin of East Bernstadt, Kentucky; 2 uncles: Bobby Joe Ellis and wife Patricia of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Clyde W. Ellis and wife Deloris of Bluford, Illinois; several cousins also survive. Her father and one nephew: Earl Anderson preceded her in death.    Weda worked at the Mt. Vernon Shoe Factory and the Credit Bureau. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and loved taking care of all the children in her family.      In honor of her wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date
