onald L. Whitlock, age 72, of Centralia, passed away at 12:16 pm on Monday, October 28, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia, Illinois.    He worked at Illinois Central Railroad. He was also teacher at a one room school house in East, St Louis. Later he worked at Murray Center and was Mental Health Technician II. He was lifelong area resident. He enjoyed collecting knives, fishing, and yard work. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Ronald Whitlock. is survived by  mother in law- Liz Zack of Englewood, FL; 2 Sons- Tony and wife Kim of Witchita, KS and Scott and wife Moa of Savanah GA; Daughter- Rhonda Whitlock of Centralia, Il; ½ brother- Rex Whitlock of Pennsylvania; Sister- Carolyn Hefner and husband Jerome of Texico, IL;  sister in law - Ruthie Whitlock; 15 grandchildren - Jordan, Jansen, Shanda, Destiny, Triston, Preston, Charity, Christopher, TaShara, DeShawn, TreVionna, Nicholas, Ashley, Alissia, and Kylie; 2  great grandchildren: several nieces and nephews. Ronald Whitlock was born on December 21, 1940 in Mt Vernon, IL, the son Alice (Pigg). Ronald married Sandra Lee (Zack) on June 8, 1963 in Centralia, IL.  After his wife Sandra died in February 21, 2013, he continued to fight his battle with cancer, which finally went into remission. Still greatly missing his wife and suffering from a broken heart, he left this Earth to join her and be together once again forever.  He was also preceded in death by his parents and brothers - Tarry Whitlock and Larry Whitlock.
