    2. James Walter Tennison, 75, of Sycamore, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at home, with his children by his side.Born Feb. 2, 1938, in Dahlgren, the son of Charles E. and Ivy I. (Barr) Tennison, Jim was a veteran of the US Army, having served as sharpshooter from 1957 to1961.He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, carrying a route in DeKalb for more than 30 years. He also worked for Creamery Package in DeKalb. James was a former member of the DeKalb Eagles, Moose and Elks clubs and the VFW in DeKalb and Sycamore.He is survived by his children, James E. and Angela (Joe) Verkler, both of Sycamore; grandchildren, Sarah and Jesse Verkler; great-granddaughter, Ella; several nieces and nephews; and his ex-wife and friend, Marcia (Kallembach) Tennison.He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma Morris; and granddaughter, Mary Christina.The funeral service was held Oct. 29, at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb, with the Rev. Dan Stovall, Sycamore Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was at Fairview Park Cemetery, DeKalb, with full military honors by a DeKalb County Honor Guard.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the James W.
