Laura Biggerstaff Riser 72-year-old former McLeansboro resident, Laura Biggerstaff Riser died at 5:47 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, IL. She had been a day care director, operating a day care center out of her home for over 30 years. Survivors include her husband, Sylvester Riser of Decatur, IL; a daughter, Tamara Sue Murphy of Eldridge, IA; a son, Terry Lee Riser and wife Gretchen of Forsyth, IL; four brothers, Manuel Biggerstaff and wife Laura Jane of McLeansboro, John Biggerstaff and wife Sharon of Woodlawn, IL, Lowell Biggerstaff and wife Linda of McLeansboro and Dale Biggerstaff and wife Brenda of Dale; five sisters, Mary Ruth Parr of McLeansboro, Florene Dutton and husband Russ of Mount Vernon, IL, Alice McKinney and husband Richard of Mt. Vernon, IL, Nona Beckham and husband Darrell of Belle Rive, IL and Wanda Sledge and husband Morris of Mount Vernon, IL; four grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Services for Laura Biggerstaff Riser will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery south of McLeansboro. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 Tuesday evening, Nov. 5 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro
