Johnston Funeral services for Mrs. Coy Dare Johnston were to be held at 2:00 p. m. today at the Pulley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Harold Conroyd officiating. Burial is to be in Kirk cemetery. Mrs. Johnston, of RFD 4, Mt. Vernon, died at 11:15 a. m. Saturday in Jefferson Memorial Hospital at the age of 70 years and ten days. She was bom May 31, 1897, in Belle Rive, the daughter of Frank and Celia (Williamson) Kniffen. She was married to Evan Lee Johnston, who survives. She is also survived by three sons, Evan Lee Johnston, Jr., James Russell Johnston, both of Mt. Vernon, and Melvin Quinn, of Lancaster, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. Frances Wilkey of Belle Rive; two Brothers, Ralph Kniffen of Farmington, Mo., and Glen Kniffen of Kankakee; a sister, Mrs. Maggie Bain of Joliet; and 12 grandchildren.Mrs. Johnston was a member of the Lebanon Baptist church.
