Roy is a 5th cousin to my grandmother, Iva Bell (Bradley) Loman. My grandmother's grandmother, is Susan Ellen (Christian) Jones. Bob Below the obit. is some of Roy's Christian ancestry. The Mt. Vernon Register-News, Saturday, April 24, 1976 Roy Y. Christian Carbondale Roy Y. Christian, 78, of Route 2, Carbondale, died at 1 a.m. today at Herrin Hospital. Mr. Christian was born in Franklin county, Ga„ on July 26, 1897, the son of Jesse V. and Georgia (Yow) Christian. He was married in Mt. Vernon, on June 4, 1955, to Evelyn Dodson, who survives. Mr. Christian was a member of the Hurricane Memorial Baptist church in Herrin, and was a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Herrin and the Loyal Order of Moose at Edwardsville. He was a retired railroad accountant. Funeral services will be held Monday at Myers Chapel in Mt. Vernon, with the Rev. Eugene Baggett and the Rev. James Feaman officiating. Burial will be in West Salem cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral chapel after 4 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Christian is survived by his wife, Evelyn; five daughters, Mrs. Esther Sargent, Mrs. Myrna Sawyers and Mrs. Donna Ruble, all of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Diane Morrison, Piano, and Mrs. Joan Stroud, Hazelwood, Mo.; two sons, William and Richard Christian, both of Hazelwood, Mo.; four brothers, Paul Christian, Arlington, Va., Ralph Christian, Decatur, Ga., and George and J.
