When I was looking at this newspaper and found the death of Daniel Fitzgerald, I thought he may be the father of Carrie but after checking I know he isn't the one. Guardianships JCI: Carrie Fitzjerrell, born October 10, 1869, minor heir of Daniel Fitzjerrell Guardian appointed May 15, 1871 - Logan Fitzjerrell; John Cockrum bondsman Guardian died January 2, 1879 (this would be Logan) Guardian appointed - January 6, 1879 - John Cockrum: Thomas W. Davis and John W. Fitzjerrell (John Cockrum is the guardian and the other two are sureties or bondsmen) This Daniel Fitzjerrell died about May 6, 1871 and his widow was Etna. Spring Garden, JCI 1870 Daniel Fitsgerald 25 Etna Fitsgerald 27 Cora Fitsgerald 10/12 Bergmer Kennedy 10 (his name may be Kennedy Bergmer) Logan & William are right next door. My goal is to find a death date for John Cockrum. A letter from McLeansboro dated 1888 from Carrie to John Cockrum mentions her brother who is very ill. Of course, the brother's isn't named and I don't know who he is. She also calls her guardian Uncle John but that doesn't necessarily mean he was her uncle because everyone called my ggrandfather "Uncle Alf".
