Roy's grandmother, Martha Jane Brown Harmon, is a sister to my great great grandfather, William Jasper Brown. The Mt. Vernon Register-News, Friday, June 16, 1967 Roy Harmon, 59, Of Sesser Dies; Funeral Sunday Roy Harmon, 59, of Sesser, died at 3:00 p. m. Thursday in the Veterans' Hospital at Marion. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p. m. Sunday at the Sesser Christian church with the Rev. J. G. Parsons officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the grave. The body will lie in state at the Brayfield Funeral Home in Sesser where friends may call after 2:00 p. m. Saturday. At noon, Sunday, the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the funeral hour. Mr. Harmon was born July 2, 1907, in Jefferson county, the son of Edward and Lula (Roberson) Harmon. He was married to Noma Waller, who survives. He is also survived by three brothers, Frank Harmon of Sesser, Ray Harmon of Mason City, Ill., and Prince Harmon of Du Quoin. Mr. Harmon was a veteran of World War Two.
