Mt. Vernon Register-News July 17, 2014 Louise Whisenhunt, 89, of San Antonio, formerly of Mt. Vernon, died 7:48 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2014, at her home in San Antonio. She was born Sunday, Dec. 28, 1924, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Arch and Cora May (Hughey) Jungers. She married Charles N. Whisenhunt on Nov. 14, 1949, in Morganfield, Ky.; he preceded her in death in 1977. She is survived by 10 children, Susan Elaine Mossholder of Portland, Ore., Vickie Lynn Haas and husband Robert of Lincoln, Charles Samuel “Sam” Whisenhunt and wife Kathy of Mt. Vernon, Mary Louise Hogue and husband Herman of Jackson, Mo., Theresa Ann Dalton of Houston, Barbara Diane Little and husband Brad of Woodlawn, Brian Eugene Whisenhunt and wife Lisa of Mt. Vernon, Kenny Walter Whisenhunt and wife Donna of Woodlawn, Josephine Renee “Jo” Keller and husband Tom of San Antonio and Shelly Stinson and husband Ray of Mt. Vernon; 25 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Jane Whisenhunt of Mesa, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a son, Mark Steven Whisenhunt. Louise worked for Florsheim Shoes/International Shoes. She was a member of St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon and also attended Christian Fellowship Church. She loved to travel, was an avid Cardinals fan, loved San Antonio — the River Walk, and regarded her family as her life. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at Christian Fellowship Church, Mt. Vernon with Jon Cook officiating.
