Vernon Register-News, Monday, June 1, 1964, Lillian M. Dixon Dies At Age 74; Funeral Tuesday Mrs. Lillian M. Dixon died a t 9:30 p.m. Sunday at her home, 1310 Conger, at the age of 74 years, four months, and 13 days. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Calvary Apostolic church, of which she was a member, with the Rev. LeRoy Sherry officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Prairie cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 5:00 p.m. today. At noon, Tuesday, the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the funeral hour. Mrs. Dixon was born Jan. 18, 1890, in McClellan township, the daughter of King W. and Anna (Laney) Bean. Survivors include three sons, Harold W., Loran A. and Bob Dixon, all of Mt. Vernon; four daughters, Mrs. Sadie Morgan and Mrs. Pauline Dunavan, both of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Myree Crally of Granite City, Ill., and Mrs. Pearl Piercy of Escondido, Calif.; two brothers, Ernest and Stewart Bean, both of Mt. Vernon; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, two sisters, three brothers, and four grandchildren.

Bean, well known retired farmer and a lifelong resident of Jefferson county, died at 5:40 o'clock. Sunday morning at his home, 313 Herbert street. His age was 82 years, seven months and 17 days. Mr. Bean retired from active work in 1932. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Bethel Tabernacle church, conducted by Rev. Charles Karch, and burial will follow in Wolf Prairie cemetery. The body will remain at the home on Herbert street until the funeral hour, where his many friends may call at any convenient time. Mr. Bean was born September 20, 1856, in Jefferson county and spent his entire life here as a respected citizen. He was united in marriage with Anna Laney May 13, 1877. His widow survives. He was the son of William King Bean and Clemenza Thompson Bean, both of whom preceded him in death. Besides his widow, he is survived by three sons, E.V. Bean, Earnest Bean, and Stewart Bean; all of Mt. Vernon; one daughter Mrs. Lillian Dixon of Mt. Vernon; four sisters, Mrs. Synthia Hester of Mt. Vernon, Catherine Dennis of Waltonville, Mrs. Sade Dees of Taylorville and Martha Holloway of Benton; 23 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Mr. Dixon was a retired mechanic. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Hughey-Pulley Funeral Home, with Rev. Frank Tittle officiating. Burial will be in West Salem cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4:00 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Dixon is survived by one son, Loren Dixon, Mt. Vernon; three daughters, Mrs. Sadie Morgan and Mrs. Pauline Dunavan, both of Mt.
