The Mt. Vernon Register-News, Monday, September 26, 1949 Erma Chambliss Dies at Age 48 Mrs. Irma (sic.) Tish Chambliss.of 304 N. Fourth street, died at 8:30 a. m. today at Good Samaritan Hospital, where she had been a patient for the past two weeks. Her age was 48 years, seven months and 20 days. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p. m, at Myers Chapel, with the Rev. Everett Apgar officiating, and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call. Mrs. Chambliss was born February 6, 1901 in Fayette county, Ill., the daughter of C. R. and Nancy (Paradee) Tish. On September 1, 1928 she was married to Edward Chambliss, who survives. Besides her husband, she is survived by her father, C. R. Tish; a brother, Velda Tish of Dix; and a sister, Beulah Haley of Collinsville, Ill.
