Mt. Vernon Register-News, Mt. Vernon, IL Wednesday, September 10, 2014 Michael Lee "Mike" Gregory, 55, of Woodlawn, died 11:32 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon. He was born Friday, Sept. 12, 1958, in Centralia, the son of Charles L. and Vivian (Perryman) Gregory. He married Joan Henderson on Nov. 1, 1980, in Mt. Vernon. Mike first worked for Vernwood Press and later for Rockwell-Cambridge in Centralia. At the time of his passing, he was owner and operator of Southern Illinois Seamless Gutter. He was a former J.V. coach for Woodlawn High School. He loved deer hunting and cooking for his family and friends. Mike was a member of Fouts Christian Church and his greatest joy in life was being Camden's "Pa Pa". He is survived by his parents, Charles and Vivian Gregory of Boyd; wife, Joan Gregory of Woodlawn; son, Cory Gregory of Austin, Texas; daughter, Pamela Gregory of Mt. Vernon; grandson, Camden Meyer of Mt. Vernon; brother, J.R. Gregory of Austin, Texas; sister, Connie Shega of Woodlawn; sister-in-law, Jane Henderson of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lonnie and Marilee Henderson. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn with Mr. Jerry Wilson officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
